Description

Sodium Alginate Introduction

Sodium Alginate, a polysaccharide, has the stability, solubility, viscosity, and safety required for excipients. It is a kind of brown powder or brown particle, almost odorless and tasteless. Sodium alginate is soluble in water but insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, and chloroform.

In industry, sodium alginate has a long history of being used as warp sizing, finishing sizing, printing sizing, etc. Sodium alginate is used as a reactive dye paste and has unique properties. The fiber and the reactive dye undergo a chemical reaction to fix the dye on the fiber. The printing paste used in the dyeing process should not interfere with or participate in the chemical reaction. When sodium alginate is used as a printing paste, it will not affect the dyeing process of reactive dyes and fibers. At the same time, the printed patterns are clear, bright, high color yield, and have good hand feeling. It is not only suitable for printing on cotton, but also for printing on wool, silk, and synthetic fibers. Sodium alginate is mixed with asbestos short fibers and coagulated by calcium acetate solution to prevent asbestos fibers from flying and protect health.
