Description
Eplerenone Introduction:
Eplerenone is a new type of selective aldosterone receptor antagonist. The pure product is white or off-white crystals. It has a stronger antagonistic effect on aldosterone than spironolactone, and has an extremely low affinity for androgen and progesterone receptors, with few adverse reactions. It has a definite curative effect on the treatment of hypertension, heart failure, and myocardial infarction, with fewer adverse reactions and good tolerance. It is a good substitute for spironolactone. For severe hypertension that cannot be controlled by the combination of multiple antihypertensive drugs, the addition of eplerenone can significantly reduce blood pressure, especially systolic blood pressure.
Eplerenone is used alone or in combination with other medications to treat high blood pressure. Eplerenone is in a class of medications called mineralocorticoid receptor antagonists. It works by blocking the action of aldosterone, a natural substance in the body that raises blood pressure.
Eplerenone Functions:
Eplerenone has the characteristics of strong selectivity to aldosterone receptors, good blood pressure-lowering effect, and long-lasting effects, and can reverse or reduce many adverse effects of aldosterone on the cardiovascular system.
