Echinacoside Introduction

Echinacoside is derived from the rhizomes of plants of the genus Echinacea. Echinacea is a perennial herbaceous plant in the Compositae family. It contains a variety of effective ingredients with great medicinal value, including polysaccharides, glycoproteins, and alkyl amides. Echinacoside was first isolated from the root of Echinacea Angustifolia, and it is one of the main effective components of Echinacea.

Its molecular formula is C35H46O20, and its chemical structure is composed of sugar groups, phenylpropenyl groups, and phenethyl alcohol groups. Studies have shown that the pharmacological effects of echinacoside are mainly anti-oxidation, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, protection of the liver, protection of nerves, promotion of wound healing, bone protection, improvement of learning and memory, and immune regulation.

Echinacoside Functions

  • Anti-oxidant and anti-aging effects

As a good antioxidant component, echinacoside has great potential in anti-oxidation. Echinacoside can protect the body from oxidative damage by regulating the oxidation-antioxidant balance in the body.

  • Neuroprotection

Anti-inflammatory and promoting wound healing.

  • Liver protection

In general, oxidative stress is involved in liver injury, and the antioxidant effect of echinacoside can protect the liver.

  • Bone protection

Echinacoside has an estrogen-like effect, and has a good effect on osteoporosis, especially osteoporosis caused by estrogen reduction.

  • Anti-tumor effect
