02 Product Description

Dihydromyricetin Introduction:

Dihydromyricetin (DHM or DMY), sometimes called Ampelopsin or Ampeloptin, is a natural antioxidant flavonoid from the Chinese vine tea plants (Ampelopsis grossedentata).

As an active herbal ingredient of the dihydromyricetin extract, it shows very promising results among hangover cures and has a significant protective effect against alcohol-induced liver damage.
Dihydromyricetin can work as an active free radical scavenger. The percentage inhibition of DPPH could reach 73.3%-91.5% with the IC50 value of 5.4 mmol/L. It markedly attenuates the activity of superoxide anion generation. It also has the strong inhibitory action of Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis Aspergillus flavus, etc. New applications have been confirmed recently that dihydromyricetin can reduce anxiety, the levels of blood sugar and blood fat; anti-inflammation; effective restraint cell proliferation of some tumor cells.

Stanford Chemicals Company is a USA wholesale supplier, our customers are mainly in North America and Europe, and the Dihydromyricetin bulk powder is from the natural extract, which is GRAS compliant.

Stanford Chemicals makes the most effective intoxication blocker and hangover cure available to the general population. We believe the responsible use of DHM alcohol can greatly reduce the risks associated with alcohol consumption and provide relief for the next day’s hangover. Dihydromyricetin hangover reduces anxiety and susceptibility to seizures caused by withdrawal.

Dihydromyricetin Applications:

  1. Prevent Hangovers– Dihydromyricetin (DHM) is called the ‘antidote to alcohol’ because of how effectively it prevents feelings of intoxication, headbanging hangovers, and other unpleasant alcohol withdrawal symptoms.
  2. Protect Your Liver and Brain– Research shows dihydromyricetin reduces alcohol-induced damage to the liver and brain.
  3. No MoreWasted Days – Wake up feeling more refreshed and alert after a night out. Enjoy yourself at night and be productive the next day.
  4. Reduce Anxiety, Blood Glucose, and Blood Fat – New applications have been confirmed recently that dihydromyricetin can reduce anxiety, the levels of blood sugar and blood fat; anti-inflammation; effective restraint cell proliferation of some tumor cells.
  5. Skin Care: DHM can neutralize free radicals, slow down skin aging, relieve skin inflammation, and repair the skin barrier.

Dihydromyricetin Benefits

  1. Antioxidant: DHM prevents lipid peroxidation and scavenge free radicals.
  2. Anti-inflammatory properties: DMH decreases the levels of cytokines and other mediators of inflammation.
  3. Antitumor: Many experiments proved that Dihydromyricetin had an effective inhibition rate on the proliferation of liver cancer, breast cancer, gastric cancer, and lung cancer in vitro.
  4. Liver Protection: Dihydromyricetin is considered a powerful substance with potential antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and antifibrotic effects that could be beneficial in liver protection.
  5. Cardiovascular protection: Dihydromyricetin has an efficient anti-thrombotic activity coupled with lipid-lowering and thus exerts cardiovascular protection.

03 Questions & Answers

  1. 1
    What is DHM?

Dihydromyricetin (DHM) is an organic compound naturally found in the Raisin Tree. It’s often called by it is Latin classification Hovenia Dulcis, and is found all over Asia. As a deciduous tree, it grows up to 12m tall, and bears a berry-like fruit that tastes similar to raisins, from which it gets its name. The molecule we know as Dihydromyricetin is also called Ampelopsin, and is extracted using an ethanol-based solution from the bark of the Hovenia Dulcis tree, and minimally processed before it’s dehydrated and turned into a powder ready to be purified.

  2. 2
Should I take it before or after drinking?

When you take dihydromyricetin really depends on what you’re trying to accomplish.  So, for example, researchers found that taking a relatively large dose before drinking it reduced the circulating levels of alcohol in the blood.  For most people however, we recommend taking it immediately after drinking which works very well to reduce the hangover symptoms usually felt the next day and stops the GABA rebound effect that will often wake you up in the middle of the night or give you anxiety the next day.

  3. 3
    Does Dihydromyricetin work?

Yes.  For both reducing intoxication, and for reducing the effects of a hangover and supporting the liver, there is ample scientific evidence.  The question really is, at what dose does it work?  And for that the answer is slightly different and varies by the number of drinks you’ve had, their alcohol content, whether you’ve eaten and so on.  It also depends on what you’re looking to achieve with DHM, since reducing intoxication requires significantly higher doses, than when taken after drinking to eliminate hangovers.

  4. 4
Will DHM stop me getting drunk?

Not really.  DHM will reduce the impact alcohol has on your central nervous system (by down-regulating GABA transmission) which means you may be more co-ordinated and less likely to have slurred speech if you take Dihydromyricetin when consuming alcohol.

  5. 5
Will it sober me up faster?

Theoretically, yes.  Doses to reduce circulating alcohol content need to be relatively large — in the 3g+ range for humans — and you still won’t be safe to drive no matter what, and doing so would be illegal.  Large doses of the supplement will indeed make you feel less drunk, but it is not certain whether this is because the anti-alcohol effect is strong enough by itself or whether the additional reduction in the neurotransmitter GABA provides an additive effect.
