In the field of skin care, antioxidants should be the most frequent occurrence of all buzzwords. Antioxidants are also becoming more and more popular in the market. But what exactly are antioxidants, which antioxidants are most effective?

Antioxidants are mainly used to prevent and eliminate damage to human cells by eliminating free radicals. Antioxidants are not compounds, nor are chemicals. They can be used in almost all anti-aging products such as healthy food and some beverages.
Adding antioxidants to diet and skincare products will double the effect of the product. Overnight, they can speed up the process of cell regeneration. But like all anti-aging ingredients, whether you have enough antioxidants in your product is a very important issue. Many brands only use antioxidants, but the actual products do not contain effective ingredients.
The following are effective antioxidants for skin beauty:

Vitamin C

Of all the popular antioxidants, vitamin C is the most common and easy to accept so far, mainly because we have often heard it before it becomes a component of skincare products. It’s a great choice for light skin. At the same time, it can also promote collagen regeneration and enhance skin repair function.
As we all know, the disadvantage of vitamin C is that it is unstable and can be oxidized rapidly. However, seeking stable and sealed products for vitamin C can avoid this problem.

Resveratrol

Resveratrol has attracted wide attention because of its antioxidants in red wine. The only way to get antioxidants from red wine is that you have to drink lots of red wine to get resveratrol.
However, this kind of booze can bring some other problems. Therefore, it is best to absorb resveratrol in the form of supplements or skincare products. Skincare products containing resveratrol can resist the damage caused by solar radiation to the skin, promote the production of collagen, and reduce the appearance of inflammation.

Green Tea

There are plenty of reasons why green tea can be regarded as a healthful substance in many cultures. Green tea is rich in antioxidants called catechol, which can effectively repair wrinkles, remove spots, and reduce inflammation. Recent studies have shown that catechol can effectively prevent collagen loss and protect skin from ultraviolet damage. Green tea is also an excellent ingredient for acne skincare products.

Polygonum cuspidatum is used in Chinese and Japanese traditional medicine to treat a variety of diseases, including fungal infection, multiple skin inflammation, cardiovascular disease, and liver disease.

Resveratrol is the main functional component of the Polygonum cuspidatum. Resveratrol and emodin showed extensive antioxidant properties, such as LDL cholesterol oxidation, and lipid peroxidation. Resveratrol can prevent the oxidation of low-density lipoprotein and has the potential to prevent and control cardiovascular disease, anti-cancer, antiviral, and immunoregulation. Resveratrol is mainly characterized by its antioxidation.
